True Country Podcast Host
Justin was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up listening to a wide variety of musical genres that spanned multiple generations, but his love was, and has always been, country music– George Strait, Hank Jr., Merle Haggard, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, the list goes on and on. Justin listened and sang along to whatever was on the radio, and at the ripe ol’ age of 32, he taught himself how to play guitar, put a band together and began playing music throughout the great State of Texas. Justin’s first EP was officially released in July 2015, his second EP in June 2016, and most recently, new music earlier in 2019. You can learn more about his music by visiting his website: www.JustinMason.com
Aside from music, Justin served five years as a K9 police officer in the United States Navy, and after completing his honorable service, he came back to Texas to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He served the City of Arlington, Texas as a police officer for six years and left the police department in 2012 to start a Real Estate company with his wife. They have 3 beautiful children and reside in north Texas.
True Country Podcast Co-Host
Theresa is a huge lover of country music and a big supporter of Justin! She has always been involved in the business side of the True Country Podcast, helping book the guests, managing the website and other back end items, but she recently joined Justin as a co-host of the show! She brings a female/wife/mom perspective to the conversations and has a blast with the interviews!
Aside from the show, Theresa works in their real estate company, is a mother to their three young children and stays involved in their local community. She enjoys attending Justin’s shows and when Justin isn’t playing, they both like seeing live music and concerts together. Theresa is a huge college football fan (and graduate of the University of Notre Dame), she loves reading and spending time with her family.
Justin & Theresa started this podcast because, simply put, they have a love for good country music and wanted to hear more in-depth stories from true country musicians, songwriters, artists and industry professionals. There have been great platforms in the past with entertaining interviews and storytelling, but never a place for true country professionals to regularly share their experiences, and for the public to get familiar with all of the talented people across the business via those stories. So Justin & Theresa decided to provide just that. Seeking out the professionals who create what they love, the True Country Podcast is the best and only place to truly know the music you hear.
